Groups of people at a Dance event.

CheltenhamSwing.Dance Events is a not-for-profit organisation run by a few friendly people who truly want you to discover the amazing and joyful world of Swing Dance.   Whether you have two left feet and have never danced before, or are an experienced dancer, there is something for you!

Lindy Hop is the mother of all the swing dances.  Its origins are firmly as an African-American dance, which originated in the 1920s and 30s in Harlem, New York. It is full of energy and fun.  CheltenhamSwing.dance is committed to honouring these roots of Lindy Hop and all the dances that came from it.   We know we are very lucky to have been invited into the world of Lindy Hop and so now faithfully promise to act as ambassadors for, and honoured guests in, the Lindy Hop scene.

There are loads of hidden dance treasures around us – you just have to know where to look.  See below for some of the things we are doing – but also check out the many options that some excellent local teachers run.

CheltenhamSwing.Dance is also committed to running Safer Spaces for dancing.

CSD Events are working with CSD Classes. CSD Classes is set up by Colin and Izzy from Worcester Swing Dance. If you’d like details of the Lindy Hop classes they are running at Dowty (just outside Cheltenham), then please look at their website CheltenhamSwingDance.mx. Book a class and come along. We’d love to see you there.

If that doesn’t tickle your fancy then take a look at our Local Classes page, and see what other Jazz dances you can learn and where else there is to learn them. Even if you think you can’t dance, you really are welcome!
